“Heritage is history that we’re afraid to lose sight of: it’s a matter of identity. Every door you open connects you to hundreds of human lives.”

Portrait by Wouter le Duc

I have always been captured by history and how it is intertwined with the here and now. The past consists of real people, whom we can get to know. By reading about them, by empathizing with them, and by encountering their world through sensory experiences. History is not just about famous names in our history books, but about regular, everyday people. Just like you and me.

My goal is to build a bridge between the past and the present. I do this by thinking outside the box, gathering diverse perspectives, and translating what I find into different types of media. Together with cultural institutions and members of society, I want to make heritage personal, approachable, accessible, and relatable.

Ideally, I’d like to bring people closer together through inclusive collaborations. This creates a greater understanding of not only the subject, but of one another. I provide guidance for institutions to form constructive bonds with their target audience and link their perspectives. This way, stories from both sides come together as one. Because heritage is from and for everyone.
