Collaborate?

My mission is to bridge the gap between people and heritage, by connecting humanity, society, and history. This connection can then be presented in whichever manner suits the subject best, for example: exhibitions, games, magazines, or lectures.

Does this match your goals? Let’s see if we can collaborate! You can connect with me via vera@verabos.nl.

Method

Most of my work consists of three aspects: concept development, research, and presentation. Collaboration within that process is a given for me, and sensitivity towards difficult subjects is key.

I shine most as an idea-generator. My curiosity feeds my process; I am intrinsically motivated to become more and more familiar with the people and the material I work with. This allows me to discover new links, which help create recognition between the project and the target audience.

Interdisciplinary

To make a story as accessible as possible for a diverse group of people, it often needs to go through a form of translation and adaptation based on the target audience and the message itself. I use my interdisciplinary tool kit to get this message across. Sometimes this leads to traditional products like an exhibition, guided tour, or lecture. However, I am not limited to those. Thanks to my educational background and professional experience, I have learned to work with a variety of digital tools. I also use out-of-the-box methods to present information in a playful way. This makes the stories I work with more approachable.

Co-creation

Whenever there is room for co-creating, I make this a priority. Not just with institutions, but with target audiences and societal stakeholders. A solid collaboration can be key for a captivating story.

What can I do?

My experience and skills consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and designing exhibitions

  • Creating and giving guided tours, workshops and lectures

  • Developing public and educational programs

  • Guiding and monitoring discussion panels

  • Gathering immaterial heritage, such as stories

  • In-depth interviews

  • Making visual translations

  • Advising regarding diversity & inclusion

  • Brainstorming about the education of heritage
